Pay transparency has finally arrived for
freelancers and consultants.

There is absolutely no catch. This site is run by a very, very small team. The costs to maintain it are very low. We do not have any huge ambition to scale this into a many-million dollar enterprise that sells out to the highest bidder. For monetization, we don't have this fully figured out yet. However - we decided unanimously, with no exception, that we will not charge for access to the data. Ideally, we want to sell access to space on our website. For example, if a recruiter is hiring for freelancers, we would charge them to advertise that job on our website, which would work well for them, because this site is highly trafficked by the exact people the recruiter is looking for.

Yes. You do not need to share your identity with us. When adding a rate, you also have the option to type "N/A" or omit anything you don't wish to share.

We have entries from a pretty wide scope. There are submissions from Software Engineers, Photographers, even a lone rate from a Plumber. (Thank you, whoever submitted that). As it stands today, our most common submissions come from tech roles (think software engineers, ux designers, tech generalists). However, we are open (and eager) to grow into more audiences.

Every single rate submission goes through a review process before making it to our final database. In this review, we check the submission against historical rates of the same role to ensure it isn't anomalous and that the data is reliable.
